Leading a teenage masonry project

Organised by "The Assisi"

This training course has been set up primarily for L'Assise's animation teams and according to needs reported in previous years, but anyone from outside is welcome!

Animation is a profession, and workcamps are a very specific part of it. That's why the association is keen to offer all its teams 5 days of technical and pedagogical training, to welcome newcomers and reactivate the knowledge of others!

Pedagogical training

The objectives are to :

- Strengthen their skills in organization, group management and knowledge transfer.

- Design activities adapted to a target audience based on local heritage

- Reactivate knowledge of collective life in the A.C.M. in relation to good practice and legislation

- Ensure the quality of interventions on REMPART workcamps by developing methods adapted to teenagers.

- Create a network of facilitators capable of transferring and adapting their knowledge to other sites.

Various modules are available to work on all this:

- Organizing heritage activities in the local area (site visit, creation, testing and analysis of a mediation activity for teenagers, etc.)

- Responsibilities at stake in ACM (legislation, intervention of an expert partner on a theme (racism or sexual and gender-based violence), etc.)

- Pedagogy in daily life (hygiene legislation, cooking and cleaning situations with a group, ecology point, menus, analysis of practices, etc.)

Technical training

The objectives are to :

- Train volunteer workcamp leaders in heritage restoration techniques and pedagogy.

- Master traditional restoration techniques (masonry, stonemasonry, rendering, etc.).

Several modules are available for this purpose:

- Technical introduction to masonry in old buildings (geology, PPE, tools, masonry and wall dismantling, repointing, etc.)

- On-site pedagogy (leading a group of teenagers, possible difficult situations, etc.)
