Since 1972, the Costwolds Canal Trust has been restoring this canal, built in 1789, to once again provide a navigable link between the Thames and the River Severn.
Thanks to its partners, REMPART offers you the chance to immerse yourself in Anglo-Saxon culture during a construction site. With the Group for the restoration of waterways, discover the heritage of the canals. For these sites which welcome volunteers of all ages, good physical condition as well as the ability to adapt to climatic conditions are required. British atmosphere guaranteed!
Volunteers will begin construction of a bridge protection and will continue to restore the retaining walls and work on the bridge support structures.
Access: Swindon station, accessible by train from London Paddington station or Stroud station, accessible by train from London Paddington station.
Practical information will be sent to you directly by Waterways.
Group activities are planned outside working hours.
