Archeology: the mounds of Cabanac 2

Supervised by archaeologists, you will participate in the excavation of the exceptional site of the mounds of Cabanac in the country of Ségur.
You will approach different techniques and methods of archeology: sedimentary excavation, recording of data, survey and drawing, treatment of archaeological objects.
The site of the motte castrales of Cabanac-et-Villagrains has been the subject of archaeological research since 2016. A motte castrale is an earth fortification generally associated with a farmyard. Sometimes considered as a "primitive fortified castle", the mound appeared in the year 1000 and was gradually abandoned in favor of stone castles. The Cabanac site, comprising two clods and several farmyards, has remarkably preserved remains, the majority of which remain to be discovered.

We work from Monday to Friday. The weekend is dedicated to exploring the region.
This site will allow you to discover the natural and cultural heritage of Bordeaux.
Registration fees : to pay at REMPART at registration
Frais de séjour : 100€ / session (to pay at the camp leader upon arrival)
Cotisation : 5€ / an (to pay at the camp leader upon arrival)
The internship is free for students in archeology by agreement.
