One Saturday a month, come join the fifteen people who maintain the remains of Montagu Castle: weeding work, masonry work, sorting of remarkable stones, introduction to stone cutting, treatment of movable objects.

.. This site is open to everyone and does not require any special skills.

The Château de Montagu, built at the beginning of the 15th century, reached its peak thanks to Admiral de Graville at the end of the 15th century.
Demolished after the revolution, the castle was given to the Auteuil apprentices in 1941.
Since 1990, the historical association of Marcoussis maintains the remains and organizes volunteer sites and training. She will restore the tower of the dungeons, the only tower preserved on the castle.

Thanks to the Heritage Foundation and the Françaises des Jeux, but also to the State and local authorities and sponsors such as Crédit Agricole and the Total Energie Foundation, work should begin in 2022. This work will be continued by the restoration of all the remains and the setting up of a social integration project.

The work is varied and open to all: weeding, tying, sorting and classification of remarkable stones, traditional masonry, restoration of pottery, introduction to stone cutting...
