- Blainville Castle: weekends
Dates from 18/03/2023 to 04/11/2023 | Age > 18 years old | Type of project Chantier de week-end |
Since 1967 we have been working to understand and bring back to life the remains of a castle that was used continuously from the 11th to the 18th century, then partially demolished and completely buried.
Join us on the weekends to implement the important protection program and develop the site.
Contact the Château de Blainville Association for dates.
Several castles have succeeded one another in the same place, from the motte of the 11th century to a new castle barely completed in 1789, quickly destroyed and buried with what remained apparent of previous constructions. These vestiges were gradually exhumed, now visible on a height which in places reaches 15m and registered in the inventory of the MH.
Rockwork to protect the levels of various walls; shoring of vaults or other structures; repair of roofs or other previous protective elements, maintenance of green spaces...
