Created in 1985, the Amis du Vieux Châteauceaux identifies the richness of the local historical and geographical heritage. She is particularly interested in the remains of the old fortress destroyed in 1420; she maintains the site for a free discovery of the ruins.

Since 2006, archaeological campaigns have been carried out on the entire site: topography, various surveys, prospecting, excavation ...

Educational projects are carried out with local schools and colleges.

In connection with certain legal structures, young people in difficulty come to help maintain the site.
