The association works to preserve, restore and present to the public narrow gauge railway equipment of the old departmental railways (steam locomotives, old wagons and installations).

Volunteers carry out all of the railway's restoration and maintenance work.

The operation of an old railway is now highly regulated by the Ministry of Transport. As a result, volunteers who wish to do so must pass clearances to perform safety functions on the train.

On the other hand, the restoration and maintenance operations of the railway are very varied. All skills and goodwill are welcome.

Among the objectives of our association, one concerns the training of members, especially young people, in techniques for restoring railway equipment, as well as in operating techniques for an old railway.

It is also in this context that we organize since 1994 a national course (and unique in France) entitled: "Driving, heating, maintenance and safety on a steam locomotive".

It is rather within the framework of integration into professional life and for young school-age members that we can play a role.

Since the association's creation in 1977, eight of our young people have been able to be recruited by large companies based on their volunteer experience.
