ARAM Nord-Pas-de-Calais

The Regional Association of Friends of the Mills of Nord Pas-de-Calais celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2003 and has to its credit 35 windmills which have regained their wings and 10 watermills their wheels. The total number of mills that have been renovated with his help is 50, including the Valmy mill. Eight restoration projects are underway.
The purpose of the association is to study and safeguard the mills of Nord Pas-de-Calais, but it extends far beyond its region thanks to its technical experience. It carries out archival research, it collects historical and technical information on existing mills in order to publish works to keep the memory of this endangered heritage. She helps the municipalities to take charge of the rescue of their mill and the individuals through her advice to avoid irremediable errors.
