Construction Insolite - Mosaic or Creative Masonry

Stays are open to children aged 8 and over accompanied by their parents.

An unusual and creative experience

In the countryside, in a green setting, let your creativity do the talking. Over the course of a few days, accompanied by a professional, come and create a lasting work of art that will be visible for years to come in an experimental and artistic architectural complex called the Construction Insolite , which celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2023!

In a small village in the heart of the Occitanie region, (re)discover the joy of inventing, of shaping with your hands, but also the happiness of sharing a family experience, enjoying a quiet vacation and getting back to nature.

The aim of these atypical stays is to give everyone the opportunity tobe creative, tomake their contribution to a heritage project, to leave their mark for future generations, and to express themselves freely. This collective, unusual and permanent project began in 2003 and evolves from year to year, from stay to stay and from trainee to trainee, without any predefined plan and according to the projects.

ORGANIZATION OF WORKSHOPS:. Workshops are divided into sub-groups of up to 8 people. There are 2 workshops at the same time, and up to 15 participants in total per session. During a family workshop, minors must be accompanied by an adult during the activity.

AGE / SKILLS: There's no need for special know-how to take part. Stays are open to children aged 8 and over (12 for the forging activity), accompanied by their parents. Our technical guides will help you create your own work of art, and can adapt to all levels.

The artistic techniques offered in this session

  • discovery and artistic creation in mosaics
  • stone construction and creations in modelled or engraved cement

Technical coordinators :

  • With Agathe, mosaics will hold no secrets for you, and you'll be able to create a personalized work of art that will brighten up the Construction Insolite.
  • With Pierre, you'll discover several techniques for creating a sculpture in sculpted cement, an engraved formwork, a column, a vault or a simple wall.
