10 reasons why you should be part of a REMPART project

REMPART is a french national association which groups together 180 regional and local heritage preservation associations, to coordinate and promote voluntary workcamps that they set up. Born in 1966, we have restored around 800 sites, welcoming each year 3000 volunteers.

1 Volunteer for heritage
Our vocation is to make citizens aware of international heritage and make them able to transmit it to future generations. Heritage is a fantastic medium to learn together and to take part in a voluntary community action for the common good.

2 Discover the diversity of heritage
Archaeological sites, castles, churches and chapels, natural spaces, industrial sites, mills, traditional homes, etc., our associations safeguard various heritage sites. Each volunteer can find a workcamp that meets his expectations.

3 Learn traditional know-how
No need to be an expert, our leaders teach you everything! Supervised by professionals, our workcamps are an opportunity to discover various traditional building and restoration techniques. Medieval bread and culinary practices, goldsmithery,  stained-glass window making, cabinetmaking, we’re sure you’ll find what you were looking for !

4 Travel in France
As a network of associations, REMPART develops workcamps throughout France. Come to discover all the french wealth and diversity, from Breton menhirs to southern creeks !

5 Encounter local cultures
Our workcamps are not restricted to heritage activities : visit of the region, preparation of traditional french or foreign meals, and many other leisure activities like hiking or swimming.

6 Be useful in a different way
Everyone can participate ! No age restriction, no need for diploma or to be hefty : we welcome everyone you want to contribute !

Our workcamps welcome international volunteers :  intergenerational, social and cultural diversity define the group in which you will take part.
