Supervised by professionals, you will learn hard stone cutting and traditional masonry.

The cut stones will be used to reconstruct the facing of the walls of the choir of the church, and you will work on the continuation of the triumphal arch. Free time will allow you to discover the medieval architecture of Rouergue: country houses, Conques basilica, Najac fortress ...

The pre-Romanesque church of Saint-Jean de Sabadel is a small isolated building hidden in the vegetation of the commune of Maleville. On an old tumulus attesting to an ancient occupation, you will discover this structure dating from the end of the 9th century-beginning of the 10th century. The site has been alive for nineteen years thanks to the work of volunteers.

You will cut blocks of stone and cut them with traditional tools, guided by stonemasons. Arc tracing lessons will complete the course.

For this fairly technical site, we recommend that you have already carried out a site in size.

You will be accommodated in a rural village located two kilometres from the site. The infrastructure does not include a washing machine or access to the wifi connection. Access by Villefranche de Rouergue station, Capdenac or Rodez airport.

In addition to site visits, the village setting allows hiking and exploration of the local flora via suitable trails.
