Come and experience an active and committed family holiday in a small Lot village, where you will be warmly welcomed by neighbors eager to share their history! An intergenerational worksite where you can discover dry stone, build wooden furniture, help maintain an interpretive trail, participate in a memory collection around the village's mining heritage, help peasants on their farms.

.. and eat well, 100% local and / or organic!

In the Lot, 9km north-east of Figeac , Saint-Perdoux welcomes you with open arms. At the bottom of a shaded valley, its traditional houses nestle on a small promontory, in front of its magnificent 11th and 12th century church.

Origin of the commune

The foundation of the Figeac monastery would be around 753 by Pépin le Bref. From there the monks swarmed all over the region. Many villages were structured around the religious establishments they founded. Such was, without doubt, the origin of Saint-Perdoux. The first writings mentioning its existence date back to 972.

The mines

Peasants had used charcoal for centuries for their personal use. The first professional miners are recorded in the civil status register of 1809. These first extractions were done in a very rudimentary way, by digging galleries, horizontal or inclined, from the seams of coal which were outcropping.

From 1850, companies were formed with wealthy people who had come from afar in search of profit.

In 1927 it was the end of mining activities.
During the war of 39/45 the shortage of fuel led to a resumption of exploitation.

  • Construction of wooden furniture for the development of convivial corners in the village.

  • Collection of memory and material traces of the Saint-Perdoux coal mine.

  • Half-day of work on the farm with peasants settled in the town.

Worksite ... with the family!

We want to welcome site enthusiasts who want to live this experience as a family: whether parents with their children, grandparents with their grandchildren, godparents and godchildren, tatas or cousins ... the door is wide open! Of course, you can come alone but having in mind the idea of sharing these few days with kids, grannies and company ...

We welcome children over 5 years old with their families.

Times together, times apart, times for oneself ...

Each day we will have times when we will be together on the various workshops of the site (with missions adapted for children), and times when the children will make their lives accompanied by a referent animator and one or two volunteers, while the adults continue on the site. We also plan time for rest, for oneself, to go out and explore this corner in the middle of nature.

Here, we like to eat well!

Each evening, around 4 people (adults and children) will participate in the preparation of meals accompanied by the daily life facilitator. We eat 100% local and / or organic and we will be eager to discover your best recipes ...

Midday meals will be made by the daily life facilitator and village volunteers.

Meetings and sharing with Saint-Perdoussiens and Saint-Perdoussiennes

Worksite times together, shared meals, convivial moments ... we will take advantage of the warm welcome from neighbors throughout the worksite.

Walks and hiking trails; plenty of games available; creative workshops; outings to discover the villages around Saint-Perdoux, the Figeacois country and its heritage; meetings with neighbors ...

Anything you want to bring and share will be welcome! Your musical instruments, your passions, your desires for celebration or rest ...
