Faycelles Terraces

Participate in the rehabilitation of the Sentier des Falaises terraces in the heart of a medieval village in the Lot countryside, in the Land of Art and History of Grand-Figeac, between the Célé and Lot valleys.

Our workshops: dry stone walls, creation of wooden furniture, stone cutting, clearing of paths. Prepare your best dishes with local products, hike the hiking trails, discover the countryside and country life!

Faycelles is a picturesque village in Figeacois, located in Quercy and the last buttress of the Massif Central. Well known to hikers, it is traversed by an inescapable stage of the way of St Jacques de Compostelle.
Since 2010, DECLAM has participated in both the overall development of the village, with the aim of becoming one of the most beautiful villages in France, but also in the rehabilitation of old terraces overlooking the Lot.

Several workshops are planned as part of this project:
- Recovery of dry stone walls: securing and building retaining walls in a friendly place in the town.
- Construction of wooden furniture to create a friendly space on the route of the interpretation trail.
- Brushcutting of local heritage interpretation trails.
- Stone cutting.

The site welcomes each year between 15 and 20 young volunteers, from all over the world!

One of the pillars of Déclam 'is to set up actions which promote a "better living together". The friendliness of the site, helping out with neighbors, good food, taking initiative ... little things that give this atypical value to the site. For this it is important that the participants respect the site, demonstrate autonomy and responsibility.

Several workshops will be available and there will be different work cycles to allow you to discover the different techniques. We work every morning for about 4 hours and dedicate the afternoon to outings, relaxation, games, exploring the village.

In terms of cuisine, all of the products will come from local and / or organic farming and you will get your hands dirty to cook and introduce the group to your local specialties!

In terms of group life, we take care of ourselves and others throughout the work: cooking, washing up, cleaning, shopping ... the idea is to do everything together! You will also have the opportunity to meet the inhabitants of Faycelles and to share convivial moments with them.

We will be hosted in a tent (2 - 3 places) in the municipal stadium, we will install our kitchen, our games there ... in short, all our bazaar!

In terms of leisure: swimming, hiking, big games, outings to discover the region, meeting with the locals and participating in local life.
