On Île Cézon, a classified natural site, you will participate in the renovation of Fort Cézon, an old fortification built by Vauban at the end of the 17th century.

Through this renovation, you will help make this place a space for cultural and artistic life. You can, if you wish, try your hand at guided tours, and take an active part in the artistic life of the island by participating in the activities offered by artists on the island.

Île Cézon is a 3 hectare fortified island, classified natural site, 30 km north of Brest. It is listed in the Historic Monuments.
The fort was built by Vauban to protect Brest from Anglo-Dutch attacks, transformed under Napoleon III, then invested by the German army during the Second World War.

The restoration site aims to consolidate the barracks, the tower, the ramparts and to maintain the site. This year, small carpentry, masonry of the ramparts, clearing, brushcutting will be on the program.

We live and work on the island. We arrive on Monday. The workcamp itself lasts from Tuesday morning until Thursday evening the following week. We leave on Friday. Sunday is a day of rest.
We work around 6 hours a day. Times may vary depending on the tide: either we start early to enjoy the beach in the afternoon, or we work full days so we free up time and allow ourselves an additional day of rest.
The comfort is rustic: no running water, solar showers, dry toilets, no electricity but panels to charge your mobile phone.
In Cézon, we live according to the tides and respecting nature, with the most organic and local cuisine possible and biodegradable toiletries that will be provided to you. You will be accommodated in your personal tent or in a dormitory.
You should bring with you a headlamp (essential), a warm sleeping bag, work clothes, safety shoes (or closed and resistant shoes at least), rain clothes (waterproof raincoat and rain pants), boots or beach shoes, a hat, sunscreen and a swimsuit.

Access: from Brest station, look for the bus to Landéda. We will welcome you when you get off the bus at the "Port de l'Aber Wrac'h" bus stop or at the "dunes Ste Marguerite" one.You will find the timetable of the bus here: www.cardesabers.com

Accessible at low tide, the island is suitable for swimming and shore fishing. The view from the island is exceptional and the walks in the surroundings will amaze you. The village, shops, harbor, cafes are 3 km away. We do not have a specific program for leisure activities but we can do it according to the desires of the participants and the possibilities of transport by land or by sea. If you have talents and passions that you like to share, do not hesitate to bring the necessary: musical instruments, games, etc.
